LINWOOD L. ALFORD

Mr. Linwood Alford (a disabled veteran himself) serves as Executive Director/Founder of Open Door Resource Center, Incorporated, and has taken on the task of planning and bringing the agency’s vision into being with a capable team of dedicated staff.
He has over 15 years of experience in counseling and has worked with diverse clientele. The vision for Open Door Resource Center Inc. began in Atlanta, Georgia, while he was employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office as the Lead Counselor and the Minority Coordinator for the state of GA appointed by the 2nd President Bush. Mr. Alford has worked hand in hand with the Department of Veterans Affair main office located in DC to resolve many veterans' cases. ODRC was established in Richmond, Virginia because Mr. Alford wanted to give back to the community of his birth and rearing.
He actively consults and partners with the Virginia Health Department, Small Business Administration, Center for Minority Health, U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, Howard University Office of Health Sciences, National Minority AID Council, National Library of Medicine, VCU Health System, Center for Disease Control, and the Minority Consortium, Inc. He has also served on numerous grant review panels and received many awards for his service to our veterans and their families.
ODRC has established (2) other locations, one in Fayetteville, North Carolina and the second in Atlanta, Georgia under his leadership, with the Richmond office being the Headquarters Office.
