Every year, students from Vanderbilt University sign up to do volunteer work across the country!
This year, we were fortunate enough to get an incredibly bright and enthusiastic group ready to learn about veterans needs. Thank you, to each and every student that helped out! You are all an inspiration to your peers, and to us as an organization.

Our Annual Red & Black Affair 2014
Our Annual Black & Red Affair is a special one-night event we hold every year at the Mobility Super Center. The event consisted of a silent auction, dinner, a DJ, and fabulous door prizes!. This year, we had an awesome turn out! Our special thanks to the supporters, staff, volunteers, and guests who made this event possible!
Vanderbilt Students March 2014
In March 2014, students from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, participated in the Alternative Spring Break Week (ASB) at their university, and Open Door Resource Center was a host site for them. On this week the students engage in volunteer community service at various assigned organizations. While they were at Open Door Resource Center, they had the opportunity to learn about disabled Veterans , assist, and talk to veterans at McGuire VA Medical Center. They also collaborated with other community agencies that week and donated their time to assist that agency with their daily community service tasks. This was our second year as a host site and looking to see them again in 2015!
